MCKINNEY-VENTO ACT
“The ultimate goal of the McKinney-Vento Act is to remove barriers that might otherwise prevent students experiencing homelessness from enrolling, attending and succeeding in school.” Some barriers include (but are not limited to) financial circumstances, displacement from a residence, and homelessness.
Prerequisites for Applying to this Financial Assistance Program:
- The student applying must be enrolled in a COLLIER COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL.
- The student must meet the requirement(s) specified by the federal act, which can be discussed with the Collier County Public School liaison, Hemlal Kafle.

Prerequisites for Applying to this Scholarship:
- The student applying must seek enrollment at a public or private school or education program, such as private tutoring services.
- The student must meet the special needs requirement(s) specified by the McKay Scholarship Program.

- The student applying must be enrolled in PRIVATE SCHOOL or is HOMESCHOOLED.
- The student must meet the special needs requirement(s) specified by the Gardiner Scholarship.

Prerequisites for Applying to this Scholarship:
- The student applying must be enrolled in PRIVATE SCHOOL or is HOMESCHOOLED.
- The student must meet the income based requirement(s) specified by the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (Step Up for Students).
