As August rolls around our college bound high school juniors and seniors are focusing on the SAT exam and their college choices and applications. A+ Skills™ has a number of services which can assist those students and their parents as they contemplate this often daunting process.
First, A+ Skills™ in conjunction with Collegiate Coaching is offering CAMP SAT, a series of SAT preparation sessions starting on Tuesday, August 22 and completing just prior to the October 14 SAT testing date. Other sessions are also planned later in the year to coincide with other SAT testing dates throughout the school year. The small group eight week courses will meet weekly from 6-8:30 pm and will provide the students with a firm grasp of SAT test taking strategies for each of the test sections – verbal, math and writing as well as College Board approved practice drills and materials.
Second, to bolster the writing skills of our clients, A+ Skills™ has recently retained the services of an APA style writing expert who will provide assistance both with preparing for the writing portion of the SAT and with the College Application Essays. APA is a more formal writing style used in college and beyond and is most helpful to students as they fulfill their college admission requirements as well as in the future as they prepare their various college research projects.
Third, A+ Skills™ is pleased to offer foreign language tutoring in Spanish and French. Many colleges have a foreign language requirement and this tutoring will assist the students as they fulfill this requirement.
